According to E Online, famous Italian jewelry house Damiani has announced Sharon Stone will be the face of a new advertising campaign that epitomizes female icons throughout legend and history. The international print campaign will showcase Damiani’s Musts and Masterpieces collection and will feature iconic women like Eve, Amelia Earhart and today’s modern women. Stone follows a long line of celebrities who have also embraced the Damiani brand including Bratt Pitt, Sophia Lauren and recently, Paris Hilton for Damiani’s Bliss Collection.

Celebrities Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have teamed up with jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris to create a line of jewelry for the Olsen’s apparel line called Elizabeth and James. This latest news just confirms the huge trend of celebrities paring up with jewelry designers to create or endorse fine jewelry collections. I’m sure the Ashley and Mary Kate jewelry line will do very well but my favorite celebrity jewelry combination still is Christina Aguilera for Stephen Webster jewelry.

Since we posted the our blog on Carrie Bradshaw’s pearls we have gotten quite a few inquiries on the exact length and size for the pearls. According to the official release from Mikimoto and the sharp eyes of the JRDunn.com buyers who saw the movie, Sarah Jessica Parker’s Mikimoto pearl strand is a 8.5 mm opera length (32 inches) and retails for $11,900. Christina Aguilera performed on May 31st in Las Vegas for the first time after her pregnancy at the launch of Stephen Webster’s new sterling silver line of jewelry. Aguilera has always been a huge fan of Webster’s designs and when she was asked to be the ambassador for the brand she happily agreed. This isn’t the only big news happening at Stephen Webster, Terri Eagle who was the head honcho over at David Yurman and later John Hardy, is the new president over at Webster. We think the new management coupled with Christina as the spokesperson is going to be an amazing combination for the brand. What do you think?

Having just returned from the 2008 JCK Vegas jewelry show I can tell you that pearls were hot but they are about to get even hotter. How do I know this? Well my wife and her girlfriends went to see the Sex and the City movie last night and when she got home she couldn’t stop talking about how great Carrie’s long strand of pearls looked.

After doing a little research, I found out from my friends over at National Jeweler that Carrie was wearing a long pearl necklace by none other than Mikimoto! Remember way back when Carrie wore the diamond horseshoe?

We’ll finally it’s over. Our team spent an unbelievable eight days on the the trade show floor finding just the right fine jewelry pieces and swiss watches to load up our showcases for the fall.

In my last report I noted organic jewelry as being particularly strong and this definitely was the case. But by the end of the show jewelry featuring black diamonds, black onyx or black sapphires stole the show. The designs were refreshing, avant-garde and even reasonable in price to boot. We started showing this a little bit last fall but this year it is going to be even bigger and the styles are traditional enough to last for some time to come.

Another emerging jewelry trend that we spotted was the combination of rose gold and white agate. I think by the time the New York show rolls around the Italians will be producing this look in full swing. It is so perfect for summertime wear, and once you see the pieces featured on JRDunn.com you’ll know exactly what I mean.
