Nanodiamonds Help Delivery of Drugs to Chemotherapy Patients

NanodiamondsWe found an amazing article today on CNN.com that explained how diamonds are helping chemotherapy drugs be delivered right to their intended targets without the drugs harming healthy cells! They are known as Nanodiamonds and they are so small that hundreds of thousands can fit into the eye of a needle. The diamonds actually surround the drugs blocking them from harming normal healthy cells, then deliver the drugs to their intended targets. More importantly, the leftover diamonds do not induce inflammation in the cells once they have done their job. Amazing! Who’d have thought that the miniature version of what we wear as decoration could make the lives of cancer patients easier, and possibly saves their lives!

Harry Winston Diamonds | Celebrities Borrowing Winston Diamond Jewelry and Losing it!

Harry Winston is learning the hard way that the publicity created by lending celebrities jewelry for important gala’s the red carpet isn’t alway what it’s cracked up to be! The list of celebrities that have borrowed and lost Harry Winston diamond jewelry or who simply refuse to bring it back is growing. The latest, according to the Daily Mail, is U.K.. Glamour model Kelly Brook. Apparently Brook borrowed a $113,000 Harry Winston diamond bracelet for the Children’s Baftas in 2006 that never was returned. A source says “it must have dropped off” and Kelly Brook refused to pay!

Diamond Hoax | The Worlds Largest Diamond is a Fake!

It turns out the supposed “largest diamond found” is nothing more than a chunk of plastic! The man at the center of all this, Brett Jolly, said he was duped by the current owners of the land in a scheme to get him to purchase the property! What happened to the garage grinder diamond verification test? Surely they couldn’t have really tried it because they would have know instantly it was plastic! I have only two more questions: “Why the heck did it take a month to confirm that it wasn’t a diamond?” and “How much do you think this piece of plastic will fetch on Ebay?” :)
