The Birthstone for August is the Peridot. And, according to the American Gem Trade Association, the Peridot has been adored since ancient times. It was even prized by the ancient Egyptians over 3500 years ago, where they referred to it as the “gem of the sun”.

Where do they come from? Australia, Hawaii, the Congo, Norway, Egypt, Arizona, China, Burma and Pakistan.

Name: Arabic word “faridat” meaning gem. Egyptians called it the “gem of the sun”.

Hello Everyone….we have been using a lot of adjectives in describing the hot look in the jewelry industry lately, however big, bold and beautiful is an understatement when it comes to this striking cocktail ring. According to National Jeweler, Rhonda Faber Green has been handpicked by Crystal Cruises to design an exclusive collection that will be available for sale aboard the companies two ultra luxury ships! Many of the pieces will feature the seahorse logo of Crystal Cruises.

This partnership comes as no surprise to the girls at J.R.Dunn. When our crew visited Rhonda’s designer jewelry display at the 2007 Couture show her genius was obvious. We fell in love with her 22kt textured bangles, link chains and hoop earrings.
