Christina Aguilera performed on May 31st in Las Vegas for the first time after her pregnancy at the launch of Stephen Webster’s new sterling silver line of jewelry. Aguilera has always been a huge fan of Webster’s designs and when she was asked to be the ambassador for the brand she happily agreed. This isn’t the only big news happening at Stephen Webster, Terri Eagle who was the head honcho over at David Yurman and later John Hardy, is the new president over at Webster. We think the new management coupled with Christina as the spokesperson is going to be an amazing combination for the brand. What do you think?

Jewelry trends for fall and winter 2008 - We are heading into our third day at the Couture 2008 jewelry show and I’m happy to report we haven’t been disappointed at all with the jewelry shown so far.

By far and away the strongest trends we have seen is the explosion of jewelry featuring organic shapes. The pearls in particular have been spectacular, especially the large baroque pearls from Yvel in black, white and gold mixed with diamonds.

As far as the over all color trends go, things seemed to have toned down from the days when shocking pink was the rule. The stones being feature in the jewelry are leaning once again towards the classics, including black, gray, brown and even some white. Some of the most outrageous pieces we saw actually featured large black diamonds, gray diamonds and rose cut diamonds.

Some of the trends from last year like rose gold, cuff bracelets, bangle bracelets, large hoop earrings and bold gold still have plenty of life left in them. However with the price of gold the way it is, some designers have tried to create gold jewelry pieces that still look bold but are actually wafer thin. These pieces were horrible! I know the suppliers wanted to keep the prices down but the style and feel didn’t translate at all. I think our clients want quality and substance when it comes to fine jewelry.

And for those of you who love designer jewelry like we do, there are tons of new pieces coming out from the top brands. We are expanding our current collections of Aaron Basha, John Hardy, Roberto Coin and Mikimoto tremendously. We are also adding quite few new exciting designers to our lineup (we’ll let you know who they are as soon as the product is on its way). And don’t worry guys, we haven’t forgot about you! We are bringing in a ton of edgy sterling silver men’s jewelry including designer cufflinks, heavy men’s bracelets and necklaces and quite a few accessories to boot.

6. Whimsical Themed Necklaces ~ Make your bridesmaid’s gifts fun and filled with personality…give them a diamond butterfly, palm trees, four leaf clovers, circles of life, etc…..Pick whichever one suits your crew’s personality best! Roberto Coin’s Tiny Treasures collection is the place to start.

7. Stylish Mens Bracelets ~ John Hardy and Russell Simmons are both designer jewelry lines that are paying a lot of attention to men’s jewelry. Both collections are wonderful with clean handsome lines just right for any groom or groomsmen gifts.

8. Cufflinks ~ A great standby for the guys… but consider going with designer cufflinks. They can be big time fun. Robin Rotenier for example, he has a cufflinks to match ANY personality.

9. Money Clips ~ This time-honored gift sure has evolved in the last 5 years. Money clips can be very chic and traditional or they can be hip and funky with black or white diamonds and/or leather accents.

10. Swiss Army Knife ~ This is a traditional standby where you cannot lose! Any groom or groomsman who is into ANY outdoor activity…can use a Swiss Army knife or watch.

John Hardy Palu Sautoir - Hey guys, I was shopping for some new perfume on the Elizabeth Arden website when I ran across Catherine Zeta-Jones wearing what looks to be a John Hardy Palu Sautoir necklace in the ad. You can see the Catherine’s picture much better in this months Vogue magazine. I love the way she is wearing the necklace layered longer, I think she has a two or three on. This John Hardy necklace is made of sterling silver with 22k hammered gold sections….the subtle accents of gold give the necklace just the right touch of warmth!
