Let me be the first to say that I can truly respect and understand the luxury watch companies desires of protecting their “brand image” when it comes to the internet. However, I think the restriction of authorized dealers showing product on the web will actually have the exact opposite effect and ultimately devalue many brands, especially those who aren’t extremely vigilant in controlling their distribution.

The 2008 Basel Watch Fair sure had a lot of firsts. For example, the Breitling Avenger Seawolf Chronograph is the first and only chronongraph on the planet that is watertight and functional down to 1000 meters. Every time I present stats like these to the SCUBA divers that come into J.R.Dunn they smile and say ” If I’m down 3300ft my watch will be the last thing I’ll be worrying about!”.
