Harry Winston is learning the hard way that the publicity created by lending celebrities jewelry for important gala’s the red carpet isn’t alway what it’s cracked up to be! The list of celebrities that have borrowed and lost Harry Winston diamond jewelry or who simply refuse to bring it back is growing. The latest, according to the Daily Mail, is U.K.. Glamour model Kelly Brook. Apparently Brook borrowed a $113,000 Harry Winston diamond bracelet for the Children’s Baftas in 2006 that never was returned. A source says “it must have dropped off” and Kelly Brook refused to pay!
In 1993 Sharon Stone sued Harry Winston for $13.5 million in dispute over a $566,000 Harry Winston diamond necklace she wore to the Oscars. Instead of returning the piece, Sharon simply kept the necklace insisting it was a gift for plugging the company! This bizarre case ended up being settled out of court!
