Jason Bourne wearing Tag Heuer Link?
Our super sleuth Doug was on assignment this weekend to check out Jason Bourne’s wristwatch in the movie “The Bourne Ultimatum.” It appears that Jason has been spotted again, keeping true to form, with a Tag Heuer Link Chrono in his latest flick. Doug gave the movie a thumbs up and said it was” just a hair long” but awesome!
Thanks Doug!
*According to Tag Heuer the watch in the movie is the Link Quartz Chronograph with a black dial.

This was one of the best movies I have seen. I never noticed Jason’s watch in the movie. Now I have to buy one for my husband. Is this the one Jason was wearing?

has anyone else noticed that bourne has 2 watches in the bourne identity? when he is pulled from the water he is wearing what looks like a tag over his divers suit, but it has a rubber strap. the one in the deposit box must be his onshore watch – good thinking jason…

When he goes into the safety deposit box, there appears to be a Breitling in there also. Its on screen very briefly, so Im exactly sure what it is.

But according to Tag Heuer’s site, thats not the watch Bourne wore. They say he wore the Calibre S with blue face.

The Bourne Ultimatum
Matt Damon returns as Jason Bourne for the latest showdown in “The Bourne Ultimatum”. In the follow-up to 2002’s “The Bourne Identity” and 2004’s “The Bourne Supremacy”-the smash hits that have grossed over $500 million at the global box office-acclaimed director Paul Greengrass joins returning cast members Julia Stiles and Joan Allen and new additions David Strathairn, Edgar Ramirez and Paddy Considine.
The film continues the saga of rogue agent Jason Bourne who never wanted more than to disappear but instead is hunted by the people of the CIA that made him the assassin he is today.
Now, in the final chapter of the espionage series, Bourne will hunt down his past in order to find his future. Still suffering from amnesia and determined to finally learn of his true identity he will have to travel from Moscow to Madrid to Paris and London to Tangier and New York all the while trying to evade, outsmart, and outmanoeuvre the deadliest scores of highly trained federal officers and Interpol agents.
In a world of uncertainty, quest for truth, turn-coat agents and ever-shifting covert alliances, the only constant is the reliability of his TAG Heuer Link Chronograph with blue dial that Bourne wears throughout this exciting trilogy.
In addition to a unique expertise in measuring the tiniest fraction of time, TAG Heuer’s LINK Chronograph sophisticated and timelessly chic design was an obvious match with Jason Bourne’s character.
“The Bourne Ultimatum” was produced by Universal Pictures and was released in August 2007 in North America, where it grossed $69.3 million in ticket sales in its first weekend of release, making it the all-time highest August opening in history.

Actually, Jason Bourne did not wear a Tag Heuer watch at all!!! If you want proof of this just go to Tag Heuer website and there you will see a list of movie stars and what watches they wear. Matt Damon is not listed there, so it could not have been a Tag Heuer watch in the Bourne Ultimatum movie. Beside the watch looks a lot better than a Tag Heuer anyways.

That’s because it only lists people who wear them in real life, NOT in movies. If TAG say that Bourne wears a TAG, then i’m fairly sure he does. Also, i have exactly the same watch and yes, it’s a TAG. It therefore can’t look better than a TAG cos it is a TAG. Ok?

The list of celebrities on the Tag website are people who endorse Tag Heuer outside of the movies they work on. They don’t list everybody who has ever worn one on-screen.

Steve is not too bright. Anyway, it was definitely a Tag and yes, it does look good! You should get your facts straight before spouting off, steve-o.

they should be displaying Bourne’s name on their site. like what omega do with their site. omega lists james bond as its ambassador and give a complete review of what type he wore.

I’m pretty sure the watch in the safety depositbox -seen ever so briefly- is a Breitling chrono avanger.

I’m a bit confused. From what I understand, in the first movie the watch is a discontinued Tag Link model. But on the TAG website it is described and pictured as a current Link model in blue (CJ1112.BA0576). And on this website it is the newer model with a black face as shown in the picture above. So what is it, a discontinued model, a black one, a blue one, or a different watch in each movie???

Actually Bourne wore a Tag Heuer Link Chronograph Auto CT5111 which was the Link Chronograph for 2000. It was pictured in the safety deposit box and was worn through out the Bourne series. The current Tag Heuer Link Chronograph is a CJ1110 which is the newer vision and has a larger Bezel unlike the CT5111. Furthermore, Tag Heuer’s website under, News lists films which includes Bourne Ultimatum. “In addition to a unique expertise in measuring the tiniest fraction of time, TAG Heuer’s LINK Chronograph sophisticated and timelessly chic design was an obvious match with Jason Bourne’s character” (Tag Heuer, News, The Bourne Ultimatum). In addition, Matt wore the same Tag Heuer Link Chronograph Auto CT5111 in the Departed.
By the way, the reason Matt Damon is not listed as an ambassador for Tag Heuer is simply because he prefers Rolex. He actually wears a vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer 1016. In fact, Matt Damon went to a college reunion back in 2002 and bought each of his 36 classmates a $3,623.18 Rolex watch.
*On a side note, if you ever come across Matt in Las Vegas, he will be wearing a Rolex.
Finally, Daniel Craig is not listed on Omega’s website simply because during a CNN interview for Quantum, he mentioned that he perfers Rolex over Omega. In fact, Sir Sean Connery presented Daniel with a Rolex Submariner 6358. If anyone can recall, Sir Sean Connery always wore a Rolex Submariner 6358 in the early classic Bond films, Daniel Craig pays tribute to Connery by wearing the Rolex.

The watch most iconically associated with the Jason Bourne character is most definitely a Tag Heuer Link. The specific version is a black dial model CT1111 from the year 2001 collection. This specific version featured stylized arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12 positions which were not featured on later versions. The first of the Bourne trilogy was released in 2002, so the 2001 version of the CT1111 was ripe for ‘product placement’ during the film’s production. Without question one of the best looking Tags – even without the Bourne connection!

A great watch…
Larry is correct. Bourne’s watch is a 2001 Tag Heuer Link Quartz Chronograph with a black face but many watch sellers show the wrong model with just a numeral 12 to try and sell their stock. The real deal also has a beautiful green and red Tag logo, not the plain silver logo. The calendar window is also located horizontally at 4 o’clock instead of parallel to the hands as in later models.
Damon wears the watch in the 2009 season finale of Entourage so obviously it is one of his favorites and a reminder of his incredible (and unexpected) success with the Bourne character that took his acting career to legendary status, and I suspect his wearing it on Entourage is probably some kind of inside joke.

Its deff. a Tag I have the same watch. I also have the rolex daytona and I must say I prefer the tag its better looking.
October 18th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
there is a lot of misinformation here.
larry is right. the watch in all bourne films is a tag heuer link QUARTZ chrono (ct1111 or ct1110). matt damon actually liked the watch so much that he kept it after the first movie and wears it pretty much every day in PRIVATE LIFE! just google ‘matt damon candids’ and you will have a hard time to find a picture without the link on his wrist.
the reason that matt damon is not on the TH website as an ambassador is because he is not getting paid for wearing the watch and he did not get the watch from TH but just kept it after filming and brought it back to the set for the second and third bourne movie since the watch was no longer available and was replaced by the new link quartz version cj1110.
john is wrong with his rolex statement. while it is true that matt has a vintage explorer I he almost never wears it.
