The history of the wedding band
The tradition of wedding bands is said to have originated in Egypt (far, far away from South Florida). The ancient Egyptians believed that the fourth finger on the left hand, commonly known as a the ring finger, has a vein that connects directly to the heart. The Egyptians reportedly crafted unbroken circles out of plants (talk about going green!) and wore these circles on their ring finger to symbolize their eternal love for one another.
